Vision & Mission

We are convinced that in the coming years, civilization will be going through the biggest transformation in human history.

The transformation is a conglomerate of developments taking place simultaneously within:

  • Technology: digitization and BINC technologies (Bio-, Info-, Nano-, and Cognitive technologies)
  • Ecosystems: depletion of natural resources, climate change, and ecological tipping points
  • Democracy:
    • erosion of human rights and rule of law
    • fundamental changes in economy and globalization
    • insufficient education and bildung

These changes may lead to existential changes in the human condition as early as 2027-29.

History has shown that major technological shifts and ecological crises have often led to bloody riots and wars, as well as to great leaps forward.

We want the great leaps forward without the riots and wars; we do not want to lose freedom, democracy nor human rights in the process.

We want a future in which all humans can live a meaningful life.

Nordic Bildung works for the leaps forward, without the riots and wars. We work for freedom, for democracy and for human rights, now and in the future.

Based on the very best from the cultural evolution around the globe, we will break away from the kind of thinking that has created the major problems facing humanity.

We will develop new understandings and models for the 21st Century, models and understandings that people around the globe can use in order to create a meaningful and sustainable future.

Nordic Bildung does the following:

  • Futurism with a goal: We analyze history and the present in order to create images of the future.
  • Think tank: We develop new models that allow us to understand the world better and to create new opportunities.
  • Bildung: We work for and with popularizing bildung in order to give people everywhere the opportunity to grasp the development, and to create a future together in which we can enjoy meaningful lives.

Nordic Bildung builds on the following pillars:

  • Mathematical models and scientific research
  • A systems perspective and an understanding of complexity
  • Metamodernity
  • The Bildung Rose
  • The Nordic Secret
