Conferences

We organize, host and facilitate conferences — also online

European Bildung Day 2020

2020 we moved the European Bildung Day online in no time and 90 people from across Europe discussed and explored bildung from Friday to Saturday afternoon. You can watch the videos from the two days here: https://europeanbildung.net/ebd2020/. The structure of the page is how we also organized the conference and the participants’ access to the different sessions.

Particularly the Fireside Chat on Friday evening was a huge success and we are now hosting more of them at the European Bildung Network: https://europeanbildung.net/online-fireside-chats/.

To keep the participants in our online “bubble” and to create a collective conference feel, we developed the Bildungtainment Center, that people could check out during coffee and other breaks in the program. Some of the content related directly to the presentations at the conference, some was just pure fun.

Whenever we organize and host a conference, we add aesthetics and the content of our future studies and philosophy to the format in order to make it a deep and enriching experience.

Satirical singing

We use communal singing to spice up conferences, and this one on “She’ll be Comin’ ‘Round the Mountain” is a hit every time:

You can have my Twitter profile when I die
You can have my Twitter profile when I die
I’ll still be in heated clashes
They’ll spread wider than my ashes
You can have my Twitter profile when I die

You’ll find the lyrics here: https://test-nordicbildung.europeanbildung.net/songs/

The only video recording we have is in Danish, and it is not from a conference organized by us, but people never forgot about it:

European Bildung Day 2019

European Bildung Day in Berlin on Europe Day, May 9th, 2019. www.bildungday.eu/ was our first international conference.

70 Bildung philosophers, researchers, practitioners, entrepreneurs, and activists from Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland explored Bildung and how to promote it.

Whenever we organize and host a conference, we add the content of our future studies and philosophy to the format and thus take what it is that you do to a new place.
