What is bildung?
Bildung is a combination of the education and knowledge necessary to thrive in your society, and the moral and emotional maturity to be both a team player and have personal autonomy. Bildung is also knowing your roots and being able to imagine the future.
What is metamodernity?
Imagine a world where you can enjoy the best from the past, the present, and the future. It is a world with meaningful relationships, liberties, and human rights, combined with global collaboration and solid local roots. It could also include a 10 hour work week.
What is the Nordic secret?
The Nordic countries generally dominate international surveys of good country qualities, such as happiest peoples, best for business, equality, most livable cities, environmentally conscious, high levels of trust, etc. We’re here to share with you the Nordic secret.
What is Nordic Bildung?
We are a future studies think tank that thinks rather than forecasts based on historical data. We are also bildung activists, and you can join the bildung movement.
And we are Nordic, of course, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with an all Scandinavian board.

Nordic Bildung is currently working on three continents facilitating the creation of bildung networks in order to connect bildung profesionals and activists and to promote bildung locally.

European Bildung Day; Nordic Bildung has been the main co-organizer of the annual European Bildung Day on Europe Day May 9th since 2019. In 2021, the theme is: Bildung: Unlocking the Spirit
The European Association for Education for Adults organizes an Erasmus+ project on Bildung i nine European countries; Nordic Bildung delivers the theoretical foundation.
Grundtvig 2030: Danish theologian NFS Grundtvig came up with the concept of folk-bildung in the 1840s when Europe was struggling with major changes. Nordic Bildung brings together past, present, and future.
